Treatment with egg donation at Trianglen

At Trianglen, we can assist you with treatment with egg donation.

Many women have recently chosen to become egg donor, which means that at Trianglen, we can currently offer donor eggs with a short waiting time. We are deeply grateful to these incredible women who have chosen to help, making the dream of parenthood possible for those struggling with infertility.

Danish law also permits double donation, which involves the simultaneous donation of both eggs and sperm. In cases of double donation, at least one of the donors must be non-anonymous.

In Denmark, the female age limit for all fertility treatments, including egg donation, is up to 46 years.

Types of egg donors

We offer three types of egg donor profiles at Trianglen: 

• Known donor
  A known donor could be a friend or a family member (except a mother or daughter).
• Non-ID release donor
  In this case, any child conceived through the donation will not be able to obtain information about the donor's identity.
• ID release donor
  With an ID release donor, the child will have the option to contact the donor after turning 18 years old.

The egg donation process

The donor undergoes hormonal treatment, after which the eggs are retrieved and fertilized with sperm from either the recipient’s partner or a sperm donor. The fertilized eggs are cultured to the blastocyst stage and then frozen.

The recipient of the donor eggs is subsequently prepared for the egg transfer:

• If the recipient has a regular menstrual cycle, the transfer can take place during the natural cycle.
• If the cycle is not stable, the uterine lining is prepared with estradiol tablets and supplemented with progesterone suppositories a few days before the transfer.

In some cases, the donor's and recipient's cycles can be synchronized, allowing the transfer to occur without freezing the blastocysts (no cryopreservation).
